About the Superannuation Guarantee
The Superannuation Guarantee (SGC) requires employers to contribute a minimum percentage of your ordinary time earnings into your super fund. The rate for FY 2025-26 is 12%, up from 11.5% in FY 2025-26. This is the legislated final rate.
Super contributions are taxed at 15% within the fund (concessional contributions), which is lower than most income tax rates — making super a tax-effective way to save for retirement.
📅 Coming 1 July 2026: Under the new Payday Super rules, employers will be required to pay super on the same day as wages — not quarterly. Use our Payday Super Calculator to see how much super you'll receive each pay cycle.
